What is life without work, I ask.

A lot of people I have spoken to tend to use the words "job" and "work" interchangeably. Well, I agree to disagree on this one. To me, "working on something" means putting in physical or mental effort to achieve a goal. The goal could lie anywhere on a vast spectrum- from something matereliastic, monetary in value to something as abstract as success or satisfaction.

Often, people get so immersed in their jobs that they start equating them with work. I'm not saying that couldn't be the case, if it is, I think you're on the right track.

If not, I urge everyone to take a step back
and think about what they truly want to achieve in life. Identify your goals and start working towards them. That's what I call real work.

I'm not alone in this belief— it's advice I've received from many successful individuals.

So, what am I working towards?

My passion lies in creating unique, state-of-the-art solutions. One of my ultimate goals is to develop something sustainable.

Our planet is facing significant challenges, and contributing to a solution that benefits future generations would be incredibly fulfilling for me.

Professional Experience

IDEXX Laboratories

Embedded Software Engineering Intern

Portland, Maine
June - August, 2024

This summer, I'm at IDEXX, working with the Chemistry team on designing internal tools for testing a fleet of machines called "Autocats." Autocats are a fleet of veterinary machines used to prognose, diagnose and run sophisticated health tests.

I am developing an full-fledged API in C# (ASP.NET) and Bash , that enables communicating with these remote devices, enabling software installation, running remote tests, testing, remote health checkups and machine maintainance. I hope to deploy this feature before the end of my term. (hopefully :)) 🤞

In terms of productivity and learning, this has been an exceptional experience. From the interview process, to getting onboarded, and to now almost finish, everything was so smooth and professional. I think I was able to level up my inter-personal skills, better communication for example, and also my technical prowess. I learnt a lot, and also got a chance to meetup with the Best Seller Keith Ferrazzi. If I could rate it, a 12/10.

Indian Institute of Technology

Machine Learning Intern

New Delhi, India
May - August, 2023

I spent the summer of 2023 interning under the aeges of IIT Delhi working as a Machine Learning Intern, attempting to optimize existing power systems.

Well, to be honest, it was a lot more Math and Physics than CS 😅... Imagine you have an existing network of transmission towers (the big Eiffel Tower-like pylons) and you could achieve the same/better performance by using an "optimized" layout. This was our goal and we were also closely working with the United Nations SDGs.

To achieve this, we used open source tools such as PyPSA (Python for Power Systems Analysis) and Altite, as well as Machine Learning and Mathematical tools for detailed analysis. We mapped the networks into graphs , and fed different parameters into our algorithm to come up with different layouts, to look for the most optimal network.

This was something I believe actually has practical application in the future, and more so, it was something worthwhile and super interesting to work on.

Intuicomp Terascience

Data Science Intern

Gurugram, India
March - May, 2023

My first ever professional work was in an Indian startup called Intuicomp Terascience, where I was positioned as a Data Science intern. During my role, I did an in-depth analysis on the in-vitro vs in-vivo behaviors of certain chemicals.

Our team was in charge of creating simple linear regression models to predict time-releasing drug potency and achieved 87% accuracy on a given dataset. Based on the outcomes, we were able to recommend data to increase drug-efficiency by up to 1.5 times. I used data analysis tool such as Numpy, Pandas and Scikit-learn to extract insights into 5 distinct pharmaceutical properties of 2 specific drugs, namely Divalproex and Quetiapine.

Being my first proper gig, I was really excited to embark on this journey, and made the most of this experience.

Arizona State University

Tempe, Arizona
January, 2023 - May, 2024

• Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

I was fortunate to hold this position for two classes, namely CPI111 (Introduction to Game Dev.) and CSE360 (Software Engineering Principles). During my tenure, I prepared training modules, videos and lecture material on Agile Software Development, Java and JavaFX, Documentation and delivery guidelines and GameMaker Studio 2.

Tools I used: Java • MySQL • Agile (Jira)

• Gold Guide

During my tenure, I was working with the New Students Programs to outreach incoming freshman, provide support, organize annual college fests, volunteer all around the university, holding campus tours, and providing everything else that a freshman needs to feel at home!

Freelancing!

As we approach a global population of 8 billion, the sheer number of unique and brilliant ideas is astounding. Every hackathon I attend reveals at least 20 developers with innovative ideas I've never encountered before, and that's just from a few hundred students.

Imagine the vast diversity of creativity worldwide. As a developer, this motivates me to contribute actively. I love helping others build their ideas.
Over the past year, I've freelanced for over 10 clients, including startups and established firms, and had the privilege of being part of Echo Labs at Arizona State University. These experiences have tested my skills and taught me invaluable lessons about the development process, from initial stages to production. I'm deeply grateful to those who believed in me and provided these opportunities.

I really feel that this has been a a true test of skills. In the process, I have also learnt a lot of new things about what goes behind the scenes from the development stages all the way to production. I really want to thank the people who bet on me.

Travel & Photography

I love traveling and capturing the moments I experience. It's truly a privilege to explore different parts of the world. I use a Canon 3000D for my photography. While it's not the most advanced camera, it suits me well as I continue to learn and improve.

You'll catch some of my favorite shots in the Blogs section, where I share not just the images, but the stories and experiences behind them. For me, photography is about about preserving memories and sharing the beauty of our world with others.

As Robert Frost, so eloquently, writes,

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
